This Privacy Policy sets out how ServeMe Limited (“ServeMe”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and discloses your personal information.
Collection of Personal Information
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us through the ServeMe meal ordering application (“Application”).
The types of personal information that we collect will depend on the purpose for which it is being collected and includes your first and last name, physical address, nationality, gender, e-mail address, phone numbers, date of birth, address, country of residence, food and drink preferences and your current location (at the time of placing orders).
In the event that you are voluntarily providing us with personal information and do not provide your full and correct details, we may not be able to comply with the purpose for which such personal information has been provided to us including your ability to access and use the services provided through our Application.
Information may be collected, and held, either by us directly or on our behalf via our third party contractors. This information may be stored by our third party contractors outside of New Zealand.
Use of Personal Information
How we use your personal information will depend on the purpose for which it is collected. Our primary use of your personal information will be in relation to restaurant meal orders made by you through the Application. We will also use your personal information for more general purposes. We provide a summary of the uses within each category as follows:
Restaurant Meal Orders
We will use information collected in the course of you submitting orders for meals through our Application for the following purposes:
- to submit such orders for food and drink to our partner restaurants;
- to allow our partner restaurants to identify you in order to provide requested goods and services;
- to process and administrate your transaction with us as a customer;
- to provide and deliver any other services you have requested;
- to provide you with restaurant recommendations and special offers;
- to aggregate along with the data of other clients in order to develop insights in relation to food preferences and provide you with improved recommendations; and
- to prepare and publish reports detailing insights gained from aggregated data such as market trends. Any data included in such reports will be anonymised and will include no personally identifying information.
General Use
The following sets out a list of general uses of your personal information that may apply to you depending on the purpose for which you have provided your personal information to us:
- disclosure to and use by service providers and contractors to help us operate our business and/or provide a service to you, e.g. who help us operate and develop our computer systems, send out mail, send out email, and clean collected data;
- to provide you with marketing and promotional information regarding ServeMe and our partner restaurants (we note that you can opt-out of receiving any such information at any time);
- to contact you in response to general enquiries;
- to further develop and refine the Application; and
- for archival purposes which involves maintaining a database of all users of the Application. Such database will generally be used for direct marketing purposes and to aid in the further development and refinement of the Application.
Access and Correction
You can request confirmation of what personal information we hold about you and require that we provide access to such personal information at any time. Please note that there are some circumstances which allow us to refuse to grant you access to your personal information.
You may also request that we correct any personal information we hold on you. When you request any such correction, or at any later time, you may:
- provide us with a statement of the correction sought to your personal information (correction statement); and
- request that we attach such correction statement to the relevant information if we do not make the requested correction.
If we refuse to make the requested correction and you have provided us with a correction statement, we will take such steps as are reasonable to ensure the correction statement is attached to the relevant information so that the correction statement will be read with such information.
Transfer of Personal Information
We may transfer your personal information to our group companies, affiliates and/or related entities. We may also transfer your personal information to third party service providers to assist us in performing any of the tasks described above under the “Use of Personal Information” heading. Otherwise we will not provide your personal information to any other third parties, unless there is a legal obligation to do so.
Other when we are required by law to disclose your personal information, we will only provide your personal information to a third party as described in this section if we believe on reasonable grounds that such third party is required to protect the information in a way that, overall, provides safeguards which are comparable to the safeguards afforded to you under the Privacy Act 2020.
